Responsible Community Partners

MEC’s long-standing traditions of community involvement set the foundation for supporting people where we live and work as we seek to enhance the human experience through donations of our time and resources.

We have long recognized the importance of being a civic-minded business partner to help strengthen the communities in which we work and live. We take corporate social responsibility very seriously, as reflected in our year-round charitable efforts of both time and donations.

​Kids’ Chance provides educational opportunities and scholarships for the children of workers seriously injured or killed on the job. They believe that by investing in our children’s future, we can provide them with the tools and opportunity to be successful in the workplace, so that they can make a difference in their own lives and the lives of others. 

 

Throughout the year MEC employees participate in local Kids’ Chance fundraising events including Kids’ Chance trivia, bowling, and various outdoor activities.

Loyola Academy of St. Louis is a Jesuit middle school in St. Louis dedicated to educating boys who have the potential for college preparatory work but whose progress may be impeded by economic or social circumstances. 

 

MEC employees serve as tutors and event volunteers to provide financial support through fundraising efforts and help further the school’s desire to develop students for academic success and prepare them to achieve their full human potential.

Marian Middle School is a faith-based school in St. Louis committed to providing adolescent girls from all backgrounds with transformational education and enrichment programming to equip them with life skills that provide a foundation for success. 

 

MEC employees donate their time, talent, and financial resources to support the school’s goal of using education to break the cycle of poverty and help students overcome adversity and thrive.

​Operation Food Search is a St. Louis-based non-profit organization dedicated to ending hunger in the greater St. Louis metropolitan area. Through their work, they serve an estimated 200,000 people in need each month.

 

MEC employees organize campaigns to help Operation Food Search. Through contributions of time, food items, and financial donations, MEC employees give back to our community and lighten the burden on local families.

The Women's Safe House provides safe shelter and transitional living services to battered women and their dependent children. Through their services, they work to empower women to make informed choices about their future.

 

MEC hosts a Giving Tree in collaboration with The Women's Safe House. Employees select tags from a tree set up in our lobby and donate gift cards, clothing, and toys for the families in need.
